When new designs are created, the Garcia family is now numbering the first three made. This didn’t start until late in 2023. Isaiah Garcia is still making a lot of 1st’s with popular older designs and new designs of his own.
The Garcia family only used a sharpie for years but discovered the sharpie would wear off of the pieces after some time. Joseph switched over in 2019-2020 to this method and Isaiah followed.
All of the products we make are made by hand. We use hand tools to chip carve our angels and crosses. No machine helps us carve the details in every piece. A lot of our pieces include items we handcraft ourselves to make the piece whole to allow hanging or help the lifespan.
Most of our carvings are done on Basswood. It is highly known to carvers as the best wood to carve on. We also use Eastern Cedar, New Mexico Cedar, Sugarpine, Ponderosa Pine and Black Walnut.
We love meeting new people and people who love the skill of woodcarving. Talking to people about what they want is exactly what we what to do. Our quality of work is unquestioned and love this for the hobby, not as a job. We hope to see you at the next Arts and Crafts show we attend.
Each piece has a leather backing for hanging. It will not scratch your walls and can be set down on bedside tables without much wobble. The Garcia family used to use metal backing but upgraded fully around 2018.
Every one of our pieces is sealed with either product. Epoxy work took us a while to perfect while we’ve used polyurethane for over 15 years. High quality, non-yellowing, hard as a rock epoxy on our necklaces have survived many drops. Our products are meant to last generations to come!
