carverJAG was created to sell and market all products made by the Garcia family. It is owned by Isaiah and Joseph A. Garcia. The family originally comes from Ojo Caliente, New Mexico. Wood-carving has been in the Garcia family since the 1990’s. The man who started it all, Adan “Laddie” Garcia, sold his products in galleries and knew many people from around the world.
Joseph A. Garcia continues to create new designs to carve. Joseph works for the Los Alamos National Laboratory and continues to find time for his art. He loves making something beautiful out of a piece of wood and talking to people who admire his work. Joseph learned from his father Adan “Laddie” Garcia when Joseph was in college. Joseph is well known for his one of a kind crosses.
Isaiah Garcia is now twenty-six years old. One of the youngest master woodcarvers in the area. Isaiah has been doing some type of woodworking since he was five years old. Learning from his father and grandfather, Isaiah was able to carve his first crosses at nine years old. Isaiah can now consistently make the products his family has made for decades.
The Garcia family has attended art shows for over two decades. Joseph A. Garcia has crosses in every state and a lot of countries all over the world. Adan “Laddie“ Garcia made just as big of an imprint. Isaiah hopes to do the same one day. We like to say, machines don’t touch our angels and crosses. The only machines that help us is a scroll saw to cut the shape and a Dremel to carve our information in the back. The almost 30 years of experience has allowed is to figure out faster ways to carve and gain muscle necessary to carve harder woods. Thank you for your support and we hope to hear from you soon!
